Hair Dil Jo Pyaar Karega!!!!!

Introducing Manish with lots of hair on his head....
With Manish who still had lot of hair...
And last but not the least Manish who ultimately lost hair!!!!

There was a funny guy with hair like a bear,
He had lot of ideas to spread and to share...

He started a club called RCMSP,
He became its first president in glee...

He had lots to say, lots to talk,
And nobody dare say STOP!!!

life was happening, but love was not,
so he began the search, began to spot!

He couldn't find the right one who would care,
and eventually he started losing hair...

But one day he met the woman of his dreams,
But his hair didn't return in spite of the expensive creams!

But the girl got bowled over by his charm,
And his long long talks which as such caused no harm!!!

And now they like each other a lot,
So much that they're ready to tie the knot!

Moral of the poem: Share and Care even if you LOSE SOME HAIR!!!!!

- Alvina ( all in good humour!!! PEACE!!!!!!)

World Aids Day

As per the HIV Estimations 2010, India is estimated to have 23.9 lakh people infected with HIV in 2009 at an estimated adult HIV prevalence of 0.31%. Adult HIV prevalence among men is 0.36%, while among women, it is 0.25%.

The first case of HIV/AIDS was reported in India in Tamil Nadu in 1986. Since then the virus has spread from the high-risk groups to the general population very fast. Today, there are 5.7 million people living with HIV/AIDS in India.

Women and children are increasingly becoming vulnerable to HIV/AIDS. The new findings conclude that 38% of the infected persons in India are women. This indicates the increasing feminization of HIV/AIDS in India. This alarming trend is being observed closely as more HIV positive mothers will unknowingly pass the virus on to their children.

India has an estimated 220,000 children infected by HIV/AIDS. It is estimated that 55,000 to 60,000 children are born every year to mothers who are HIV positive. Without treatment, these newborns stand an estimated 30% chance of becoming infected during the mother’s pregnancy, labor or through breastfeeding after six months. There is effective treatment available, but this is not reaching all women and children who need it.

Mukta Jeevan is an orphanage for kids born with HIV located at Shahpur. Rotaract Club of Mumbai Shivaji Park will be visiting this orphanage to mark World Aids Day very soon! Keep watching this space for more!!
